JCA Scholarships

Our goal is to provide scholarships to deserving area youth that have a need for financial assistance. Ideal candidates are students who are active in supporting their communities and show an eagerness to achieve through knowledge attained by pursuing a post-high school course of study at either a college/university or post-secondary educational institution.

The Alexis Cleo Randall Scholarship ($500)

This scholarship will be awarded to someone who is interested in pursuing a degree in Hotel/Hospitality Management at a 4-year University. The recipient must write a one-page essay. The essay will be on any health-related concern themselves or family member has pushed through; and how cost to attend school could potentially be an issue from this.

The Jazzy Jeff Scholarship ($500)

This scholarship will be awarded to someone who is interested in pursuing a degree in The School of Arts at their potential institution. This candidate must include a copy of their creative work and explain how their creativity will one day change their life.

The Cleola Johnson Book Scholarship ($500)

This scholarship will be awarded to someone who views advancing their education as imperative. Cleola preached getting an education to her children and grandchildren. She knew that by doing this, they could receive immense opportunities. This individual that will receive this scholarship is someone who holds a leadership position in an extra-curriculum activity/organization. This candidate will write a one-page essay about how education can grant them opportunities.

The Wildcard Scholarship ($500)

Respond to the essay question. Any applicant who plans to attend College/University can apply to this scholarship. Write an essay on how your post-secondary education will help you serve the community? Write an essay on how you overcame a trial or hardship?

Mentorship Program

The JCA Mentorship program aims to provide guidance and support that will assist students over hurdles and around roadblocks in order for them to successfully cross the finish line. With the collaboration of our professional community and mentors, our focus is to address several areas of the students’ journey through college including financial, academic, career, and social.
